The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) is a national authority established by an Act of Parliament (Act 38 of 2000) to oversee the long-term viability and expansion of construction enterprises in South Africa.
The CIDB’s primary mission is to enable and promote the construction industry’s increased contribution to South Africa’s economy and society. The CIDB promotes, among other things, procurement uniformity in the construction industry. Delivery of infrastructure that is efficient and effective.
To be eligible for CIDB Levels 2-9, you must meet the criteria outlined in the table below. The standards listed below are annual, and you must be able to present two years’ worth of financial statements for your Construction Company to prove the conditions listed below (must be signed off by your Accountant). CIDB will also require your original VAT 201 submission and VAT statements for two years.
